Q. Is there Parking near and around The Annex?
A. Street Parking is free and easy as long as it is legal. No fees or time restrictions (Please don’t park on the pavement).

Q. I’ve never used AirBnB before. Do you have any advice for an AirBnB Novice?
A. Absolutely! Chat with your Host, ask any questions. Always use a PC, NOT a SmartPhone. Look at the map, reviews, prices & cancellation policy. ‘Superhosts’ are always an indication of a recommended stay. Just as you should for a Hotel or any other online purchase – CHECK!
Q. How far is it to town & the seafront?
A. To walk is about 20-25 mins. Easy enough as we have maps. £7-8 by cab.
Q. Does The Annex have a kitchen?
A. NO, it doesn’t have a kitchen but it does have a kettle (tea, coffee etc) and an electric cool box.
Q. USB sockets and adapters for Continental visitors?
A. The Annex has 2 USB charging points and a Continental adapter. The UK uses 240 Volts. Make sure that your device(s) are set and able to use 240 Volts!
Q. Does The Annex have a hair drier?
A. YES, The Annex does have a hair drier.
Q. Does The Annex have a TV, DVD player Roku TV for catchup and fast WiFi?
A. ABSOLUTELY, unlike some hotels WiFi is fast, ‘free’ and unrestricted. A little DVD library too.
Q. Are there towels and is there bed linen in The Annex?
A. Of course. Always freshly laundered. We also adapt the linen to the season and events. Towels for the beach too -ask; & for a bucket & spade to make sand castles!
Q. Hot or Cold?
A. We try to allow for most all temperatures. The bedding/Duvet is changed to suit the season. The Annex has 2 bedside fans for the Summer and a heater for Winter + a ‘throw’ cover for a chilly night. The windows open too for some fresh air!
Q. Can I/We book The Annex direct?
A. Sorry, only ‘initially’ via AirBnB.
Q. Thinking of traveling via Southend Airport and we’d like to visit London?
A. Southend London airport is 10 mins by taxi at about £12.
A. To London is easy enough. Southend EAST Stn is a 15 min walk and the regular train takes less than an hour. Best done ‘off-peak’. Also 2-4-1 attraction offers for train travellers.
